You’re So Fly: Jami Mullikin

Meet Jami Mullikin! Jami is the Founder of Mullikin & Co DBA Wonder, and we asked him to tell us a bit more about himself and what inspired him to start his company!

What inspired you to start Wonder?

I grew up in an entrepreneurial family and started my first agency at 26. Out of my nearly 30-year career, I’ve spent over 15 years self-employed. At 50, I hit a kind of mid-life crossroads: I had a stable job but knew deep down I needed to build something new and step away from the traditional agency world. So, I gave it a shot—and, as it turns out, God had other plans. In early 2023, Wonder was born. I started the agency I said I’d never start and we’ve been having a blast ever since.

What is your favorite part about owning your own business?

My favorite part of owning my own business is casting a long-term vision and building the team that’ll help us get there. There’s nothing like watching people come together, take ownership, and contribute to something bigger than themselves.

How do you stay motivated and inspired in your work?

Deadlines, deadlines, deadlines—just kidding! While deadlines are a big part of agency life, what really keeps me motivated is helping clients solve business problems. Plus, in an agency, no two days are ever the same, which keeps things fun and exciting.

What’s your vision for the future? What professional goals are on the horizon?

My co-founders (Mark and Warren) and I have all been down this road before, and we agreed that if we were going to do it again, we’re going big. Our vision is to become the leading agency partner for B2B tech brands running on EOS within three years. Getting there means growing to a team of 15-20 people pretty quickly, and we’re off to a great start.

What advice would you give to others looking to make a positive impact in the startup world?

My advice? Embrace an abundance mindset and stay curious. Be open, vulnerable, and always willing to help others. The startup world thrives on collaboration, and the more you give, the more you grow.

How do you see yourself contributing to the Flywheel community and supporting other members?

As a natural promoter, I do everything I can to get people through Flywheel’s doors—whether that’s encouraging them to attend our events, explore the space, or join our community. I’ve had people on LinkedIn even assume Flywheel was my company, so maybe I need to dial the enthusiasm back just a bit!

How has your time at Flywheel and the community here helped you reach personal and professional goals?

In time, I think many realize that working from home can feel isolating. I’m a collaborator at heart, and that energy just isn’t the same at home. I’ve been part of several co-working spaces over the past three years, and every time, I’ve seen a return on investment within the first 90 days. Community requires density and shared interests, and Flywheel has both. Everyone here is invested in connecting and helping each other grow.
