You’re So Fly: Gustavo and Ramon Nieves
Meet Founders of Unicomm Media Group, Gustavo and Ramon Nieves!
1. What inspired you to start Unicomm Media Group?
We were driven by a deep desire to bridge the gap between brands and the growing Hispanic market in the U.S. Our mission was to create meaningful connections through culturally relevant marketing, which we felt was lacking in many industries. Seeing the positive impact we can have inspires us to champion multicultural marketing efforts and help companies forge deeper, more meaningful connections with their customers, which inspired us to launch UMG.
2. What is your favorite part about owning your own business?
One of the most rewarding aspects of running UMG is the ability to set a clear vision and see it come to life. We love crafting our own path, creating jobs, and building a team that shares our passion for cultural inclusion. Seeing our work make a difference for our clients and the communities we serve is incredibly fulfilling.
3. How do you stay motivated and inspired in your work?
We stay motivated by always remembering why we started. Our client’s success stories, the growing impact of Hispanic culture in the mainstream, and our own team’s innovative ideas inspire us. We also find it energizing to continuously learn and evolve, whether it’s exploring new digital trends or finding fresh ways to tell our clients’ stories.
4. What’s your vision for the future? What professional goals are on the horizon?
Our vision is to become one of the top multicultural marketing firms in the nation, helping brands connect authentically with diverse audiences. Professionally, we’re focused on expanding our reach into new markets, leveraging data-driven strategies to deliver measurable results, and investing in the next generation of creative talent. Ultimately, we want to help businesses recognize that inclusivity is not just good ethics; it’s smart business.
5. What advice would you give to others looking to make a positive impact in the startup world?
Stay true to your mission, surround yourself with a strong, diverse team, and never underestimate the power of listening. By truly understanding the needs of your customers and community, you can build a business that not only grows but also leaves a lasting positive impact. It’s also crucial to embrace adaptability. Change is constant, and being open to new ideas and approaches can be a game-changer.
6. How do you see yourself contributing to the Flywheel community and supporting other members?
We want to contribute by sharing our expertise and experiences with other members by offering insights into multicultural marketing and collaborating to grow together. We’re also passionate about mentorship and hope to support fellow entrepreneurs by providing guidance and encouragement as they navigate their own journeys.
7. How has your time at Flywheel and the community here helped you reach personal and professional goals?
The Flywheel community has been instrumental in helping us refine our business strategies, reconnect with both new and former colleagues, and focus on what we do best: building strong, innovative companies.
