September 12 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm
Idea Tap is one part networking, one part pitch refinement, and a heap of startup support in one event! Presenters are selected in advance and have 5 minutes to pitch their startup. It can be an up-and-running company, the seeds of a someday-company, or an idea for a product—the stages of development are all over the map. With potential partners, investors and clients in the audience it’s a great opportunity to get feedback in a low pressure environment.
After a 5-minute Q&A, attendees submit feedback which the presenter will receive after the event. Often, the pitches are also recorded so presenters can watch themselves and improve.
Once the pitches are over (we limit them to 4 for brevity), it’s time to open up the taps and meet our diverse network of entrepreneurs, creatives, programmers, funders, founders and friends.
Idea Tap is an awesome opportunity not only for entrepreneurs with ideas, but for folks who want to get a better idea of the innovation brewing in our city. No startup experience required—just show up.
Do you want to be a presenter?
Looking for feedback or validation for your innovative business, product or service idea? Want to practice your pitch in front of a candid, supportive audience of peers and experts? Apply to pitch at the Idea Tap, held the second Tuesday of each month. Idea Tap is an informal opportunity to pitch ideas at ALL stages. It’s a mashup of pitching ideas, mentor sessions and on-the-fly discussions — plus networking with like-minded innovators, inventors, entrepreneurs and champions in Flywheel’s Pool Hall (that’s where the “Tap” comes in).
Complete this short application ASAP to grab one of the limited presenter slots. We will fill 5 presenter slots for each event and will review applications on a rolling basis. Later applications will be reviewed and notified if selected. Otherwise, late or non-selected applications will be rolled forward to the next Idea Tap session.
